When is the best time to visit Buenos Aires?

Buenos Aires can be visited all year round. It is a vibrant city with lots of places to visit and plenty of activities to do, so that you can make the most of your stay in Buenos Aires. This travel insight will help you to make your choice about your best time to visit Buenos Aires.

Well, Buenos Aires has a mild climate. It is important to take into account that our summer (December to February) implies winter season for the northern hemisphere. So, many people arrive in Buenos Aires to take a cruise and enjoy other ports of call in Argentina and Chile.

Autumn (March to June) is also a good option. Days are usually very sunny and the temperature drops a little at night so that it is nice to walk around and enjoy a beer. One advantage is that prices tend to be a little lower.

Winter (July and August) is cold but you will not find snow in Buenos Aires. Prices are usually good, except in July because of winter holidays and the ski season.

Springtime (September to December) offers pleasant temperatures. The city parks offer special landscapes, and trees are in bloom. The lovely jacaranda trees show their purple flowers all around the city.

As you see, Buenos Aires is a wonderful city, worth visiting all year round!

Safety tips when you visit Buenos Aires

We are sure that you will make friends and enjoy your stay in the city and Buenos Aires is one of the most important cities in South America, millions of people live . So, it will be very useful to know some of the ins and outs when moving around.

It is always important to leave all your valuables in your hotel safe.

The main issues are pickpockets and snatchers. Sometimes, they are walking around, just waiting for the moment to get their loot.

It is important not to wear expensive or flashy watches and jewelry. Maybe you know that your flashy watch is only worth a few dollars, but it will still be attractive to those people. Please, wear backpacks across the front, never at the back.

Some pickpockets use the “mustard” scheme. They “accidentally” spill something on you; then they will try to “help” you to clean your clothes while they also “clean” your pockets.

Cell phones are another favorite item. Don’t walk around with your cell phone in your hand. Pay special attention whenever you are outdoors.

Don’t carry large amounts of cash if it is not necessary. Think about how much you might need while you are out during that day and, again, the hotel safe will be a good option.

Keep an eye on your belongings (including cell phones) when you are at a restaurant. Being distracted could be a tempting opportunity for thieves.

Avoid dark or lonely streets. A good option is to ask your hotel concierge and know details about the area where you are staying.
