Best day trips to Uruguay from Buenos Aires

While this is a trip that can be done independently, we decided to make arrangements with Signature Tours—they did not disappoint! All of the transport arrangements were handled by them and everything went smoothly the entire day. This was an excellent day trip experience which I highly recommend to anyone who wants to explore a little piece of Uruguay.

This tour was fantastic to learn about Uruguay and it’s history! Situated between Brazil and Argentina, you don’t hear much about it and you do not learn about it in history class in the US. I learned a lot in the hours that I spent listening to her and asking questions. There’s free time as well to walk around and explore more of the town.

I traveled here on a day trip from Buenos Aires. Colonia is a charming and picturesque place. The historic center is really magical! It quickly takes you to the colonial era with its cobbled streets, flowers and old houses super well preserved. With Colonia being just an hour away on ferry from Buenos Aires, it gives you the perfect opportunity to add another country and another stamp to your passport. Would definitely recommend taking this day trip!
