Tour details

Day 1: San Antonio de Areco
Itinerary steps: 1
Meals included: Lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: Overnight at El Ombu de Areco or at a unique hotel in San Antonio de Areco.

The tour begins with your pick-up at your hotel in Buenos Aires. Then, you will be driven through our Argentine countryside, where local farms are located. On the way, an expert tour guide will give you detailed information about our country.

Once you get to San Antonio de Areco, you will enjoy a lovely tour around the town and its old center. A little later, you will spend the day at a unique ranch, El Ombú de Areco.

At the ranch, you will have different options: Horseback riding or going for a ride on horse-drawn carriages. In the meantime, a buffet will be ready for you: Cold cuts, different types of cheese, and traditional drinks. Then, a typical barbecue lunch follows. You will taste the best quality meat. Lunch will be complete only after a delicious dessert and watching folk music shows and/or gaucho skills.

After enjoying these activities, you may choose between having dinner and spending the night at the “estancia” already mentioned, or having dinner and spending the night at a unique hotel located in the town center.

Day 2: Visit the town
Itinerary steps: 1
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch

If you prefer to sleep at the “estancia,” during the second day you will enjoy breakfast while you admire the serenity of the place. Then, all the facilities will be available for you, as well as all the activities described under Day 1. At noon, you will enjoy lunch and during the afternoon, you will have your transfer back to Buenos Aires to your hotel/apartment.

Learned so much about Areco! Mikey - Mar 2019

Our private tour of the Pampas was led by Marcelo. He showed us the beauties of the pampas in his most charming and personal way. Marcelo was the perfect tour guide with lots of humor, quick wit and dedication. We first went to the old town of Areco. There we were fascinated by the Draghi museum which is family run and operated featuring some of the best silver smiths in the world. It is truly incredible to see what these artisans can create with their hands and just a few tools. After that, we went to visit the local church. Its ornamentation and decoration were very well combined inside and the building itself was bright and visually stunning. After visiting the town a bit, we went to the "Ombu" Estancia. It was fantastic experiencing the gaucho and horse demonstration and the folkloric was also entertaining. Last but not least, the asado and the wine were great! It was definitely worth it
